Dr. Parag Parekh MD is the area's only Board Certified, Fellowship Trained LASIK Surgeon offering Bladeless "All Laser" LASIK. He has been a pioneer in this procedure, and was one of the first to perform Bladeless LASIK in Central and Western PA.
Perhaps even more importantly, he is the only surgeon in the area skilled in all the latest surgical techniques for vision correction. Not everyone is the ideal LASIK candidate--some patients are well suited to LASIK, while others are better served by PRK, or ICL (implantable contact lens) or RLE (refractive lens exchange). Since Dr. Parekh is the only surgeon in the area performing the entire array of vision correction procedures, you can rest assured that you're getting the right treatment custom tailored to your eyes, giving you the best possible outcome. Dr. Parekh earned his college degree from Johns Hopkins University (Baltimore, MD), and his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine (Philadelphia, PA). He was then awarded the Kennedy Fellowship to attend Harvard's John F. Kennedy School of Government (Cambridge, MA), where he earned a Master's degree studying U.S. Health Policy, Economics, and Management.
Dr. Parekh completed his residency training at the Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute (Baltimore, MD). He then learned the intricacies of Refractive Surgery during his fellowship with Minnesota Eye Consultants (Minneapolis, MN), specializing in techniques like LASIK, PRK, ICL and lens exchange. After his training was complete, he spent several years in practice in Massachusetts, with offices in Boston and Cape Cod and clinical appointments at Harvard/Massachusetts Eye & Ear Infirmary and Tufts/New England Eye Center. More recently, he has been in practice in Pennsylvania for the past four years and has performed thousands of surgical procedures.
